Much attention has been devoted to conservative religion in America. However, at a variety of levels (from community to national), using a variety of organizational forms, and involved with a variety of issues, people with “progressive” religious and political commitments have been working steadily to change society toward more equitable and social justice outcomes. The papers in this session will present analyses of several different modes and movements of progressive religious activism.
