Session Submission Type: Paper Session
This session brings together a set of richly developed papers examining how the established routines of legal institutions filter the impact of legal reforms. These pieces harken back to a foundational law-and-society interest in the "gap" between law-on-the-books and law-in-action. However, the authors extend this vision into new and important domains, exploring how routine legal/organizational structures and practices filter issues of gender equality and violence across a diverse array of cultural and national contexts.
