Abstract

Scholars are adapting social media tools and platforms to do everything from conduct research to engage the public. The learning curve varies but there is a skill to developing a social media toolkit that suits your purposes. But, the first step is to clearly articulate how and why you should use social media. This workshop will provide an overview of the most popular social media tools, examples of how sociologists are using them and hands-on exercises to put you on the path to writing your own social media plan.
