Is there a Sociology of the Body in Brasil?

Abstract

This article aims to answer whether there is a sociologia of the body in Brazil , using the method as bibliographic study of the scientific literature between 2000 and 2012. We used the magazines A1, A2 and B1 classified by Qualis / Capes, the knowledge areas of sociology and Physical Education. The key words were body technique, Mauss and body, for we hold in the conceptual theoretical framework of Marcel Mauss (2003), in his important contribution to the category of body techniques, and purposeful studies of the construct of a sociology of Le Breton body (2010).
