Sociology, Political Activism, and Public Policy: Ending Homelessness in Rhode Island

Abstract

In a society with increasing economic inequality and other serious injustices, sociologists should commit to changing and not to simply understanding our social world. The author describes his involvement in research, advocacy, and protest movements designed to end homelessness in the state of Rhode Island.
