Abstract

In an introductory sociology course, it is impossible to cover the range of topics within a semester. However, incorporating a global perspective may add new challenges in teaching and learning about sociology. These include understanding geography, cultures, and life experiences and perspectives, not within the United States but around the world. Sacrifices need to be made in covering introductory sociology so that new knowledge and skills are included in the course.
