086 - Regular Session. Economic Sociology. Gender in the Economy

Sat, August 22, 2:30 to 4:10pm, TBA

Session Submission Type: Paper Session

Abstract

Economic sociology still suffers from a tendency to ignore and underplay gender-related issues and their relationship to economic life, even if efforts to remedy this are taking place and has increasingly been doing so during the last few years. In this session various aspects of the gender inequality in economic life are analyzed, such as wage differences, household work, sexually-related economic oppression, and the unequal situation of women in entrepreneurial couples.
