Abstract

Current explanations of financial development often fail to account for variations in corporate governance in emerging markets. This paper follows calls to add a more sociological understanding of the ownership and control of public-traded firms by using network visualization to describe the variations in network structures of firms listed on stock exchanges in the Middle East and North Africa.
