This invited session will feature scholars from the US and other countries who study the social forces and structural arrangements that serve to exclude or include older adults in their communities and civic life. Emphasis will be on differences and similarities in the conceptualization of inclusion/exclusion in US, Canada, and Europe. Panelists will discuss the implications for developing and maintaining age-friendly cities.
