About Annual Meeting
In this article, we explored the issue of colorism in Pakistan with the guidance of various theoretical perspectives including feminism, colonialism, racism and slavery, capitalism, and globalization. By looking at the issue of colorism with a social constructivist stance, we thematically analyzed newspaper articles and readers’ comments as a two-way interaction to outline compact signs of reflexive colorism. Our research shows evidence of reflexive colorism which may be of the interest to scholars working in fields of sociology and anthropology of gender, race and ethnicity.
