About Annual Meeting
With a new database including 834 cities, this paper utilizes exploratory methods to establish a description of the contexts and contours of urban expulsions of Jews in the western medieval and early modern Holy Roman Empire (1000-1520). Descriptive analysis includes the frequency, geography, and chronology of these expulsions. Multivariate linear regression compares the influence of hypothesized key contextual factors on the probability of an expulsion. Analysis is scheduled to be completed in February 2018.
