As part of an effort to “build capacity” among members to engage in public sociology, this workshop will provide concrete advice on how to talk with reporters. Subjects include the importance of finding time to talk on their schedule, ways to go about cultivating a relationship, and strategies for conveying your research in a vivid fashion.

There are effective and ineffective ways to promote sociological research with reporters. This workshop will help sociologists learn valuable strategies for presenting their work in a succinct and effective fashion.
