1482 - Academics Under Attack in Trump's America

Description

Attacks on academic freedom are not new, however, since the election of Donald J. Trump, the attacks and intensity have increased. In this Town Hall, colleagues who have experienced these attacks or who have been asked to provide organizational assistance examine why and how these attacks occur, reflect on the process and history that leads to these attacks, and provide suggestions on how to counter them. We hope to generate participation from the audience as these attacks are likely to continue and preparing sociologists is the first step in fighting back.
