About Annual Meeting
Session Submission Type: Paper Session 100min
Rather than treat social control and deviance as isolated and static categories, these papers highlight how the two coconstruct each other. Logics of control evolve with the categories of deviance they were designed to target. Some of the papers emphasize the relational effects and others ongoing processual changes. The papers are drawn from a variety of settings, including immigration, criminal law, policing, and mental health treatment.
