“Publish or perish” is the old adage. But what exactly should one publish and when should one begin publishing? This workshop will provide students with an overview of the publishing process. The presenters will discuss how graduate students can create a timeline for publishing while in graduate school and beyond. The presenters will provide insight into: 1) How to write publishable work while in coursework, 2) Publishing work from your dissertation, and 3) The revise and resubmit process. Additionally, the presenters will explain how they select a journal and submit their manuscripts. Finally, the presenters will also discuss tips and strategies for publishing co-authored pieces. The goal of this workshop is to provide students with practical advice for how to begin publishing.
