Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to quantitatively clarify the relationship between personal network and marital couple's housework sharing. In addition to the variables that have been dealt with in studies that have been accumulated in the field of sociology of family until now, as a regulatory factor of the couple's sharing of housework, focusing on the influence of structural factors such as relatives, areas, and workplace networks surrounding individuals, We analyze how network characteristics influence on the couple's sharing of housework.
The data used is the "modern nuclear family survey" conducted in 2008 by the Public Interest Foundation Household Economics Institute. The target is a nuclear family household living in the capital city 30 km, whose wife is 35 to 49 years old.
As a result of the analysis, as variables based on the attribute selection theory, as variables based on the number of children, how to work a husband (working hours), income of a couple, income of a wife, It was revealed that there were many relationships with her husband 's relatives and her husband' s close friendship with her husband 's close friend, which is positively related to the increase in her husband' s share of household work.
