The focus of the workshop: Using 40 years of
sociological knowledge, how the author/workshop leader, as a program evaluator in the not-for-profit industry, developed and built effective programs and solutions to applied problems.
Additionally, having served as a team leader and peer reviewer of 115 not-for-profit organizations in 37 states and 4 countries for the Council on Accreditation, the author will share practical applications of sociological
knowledge to solve applied problems.
The session will provide participants with a variety of tips on handling workplace/organizational challenges, as well
as addressing customer and client challenges.
The primary focus is to share the author’s experiences, as well as to provide tips for the participants’ toolkits, that they may use in their own work settings. More importantly, the author will show the value of applied
sociological skills and how those skills can assist people in need of services, as well as improve the organizational environment that provides those services.
