In this paper we use interviews with conservative college students enrolled at four flagship public universities to explore views on Donald Trump and his administration. We argue there are three main orientations toward the president: true belief, principled rejection, and satisficed partisanship. Further these orientations are situated within complex and divergent cultural narratives about the meaning of conservatism for our interviewees.
