2245 - Feminist Urban Ethnography: Imagining A Queer of Color Sociology

Description

This interdisciplinary group of ethnographers will draw on their expertise on critical-race and queer of color feminisms to challenge white masculinist traditions in urban ethnographies. The panelists will engage in a conversation regarding their own experiences in queering ethnography, and they will highlight practices in the field, they've engaged in, that can challenge the canon. Lastly, they will tell us what the academic and policy implications are of imagining a feminist urban ethnography for generations to come.
