This session will feature papers that assess the field of environmental sociology: What are major trends in environmental sociological scholarship, in terms of empirical foci, theoretical frameworks, research methods, and/or applied contributions? As a community of scholars, what have been our strengths, and what have been our silences? What recommendations can be made for strengthening the field, including in terms of contributions to social theory and/or to political change?
