Description
This session invites papers that take an intersectional approach to the study of sexual violence. Despite the popularity of what Beth Richie has called the “everywoman paradigm,” not all women are equally vulnerable to intimate violence and its effects: violence does indeed discriminate. We invite papers that explore sexual violence at the intersection of race, class, gender, sexuality, nationality, age, and ability. This panel welcomes submissions that speak to the theme of sexual violence broadly construed, including sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence, as well as organizational, institutional, and social movement responses.
