From the pill to IVF, from ovulation tracking apps to egg-freezing to genetic tests to cell engineering, technology has been changing fertility and the social relationships defined by fertility across the globe. This session invites papers examine the ways that technology has and will continue to influence fertility preferences, decision-making, and fertility-related behaviors. Potential topics may include (but are not limited to): social differentiation in the applications of fertility technology, fertility technology and social inequality, fertility technology and cultural changes/social adaption, as well as communication technology and fertility behavior.
