4364 - Contextualizing Reproductive Trajectories

Tue, August 13, 12:30 to 2:10pm, Sheraton New York, Floor: Third Floor, Carnegie West

Session Submission Type: Paper Session 100min

Description

The extent to which people plan and choose parenthood or other aspects of reproduction is an area of intense debate within studies of reproduction. This session includes papers that all provide important context for this debate. From a broad view of what the imperative “to plan” means to how individuals think about their aging reproductive bodies to the policy context that inhibits or facilitates decisions to parent, these papers help us understand what it means to plan and experience the reproductive life course.
