Description
This session addresses the implications of legal marriage for LGBTQ individuals and same-sex couples. The first set of papers papers uses mixed methods (i.e., surveys and interviews) to address how same-sex couples view marriage when they have the option to legally marry. The second set uses population-based surveys to examine whether sexual minorities reap the same health benefits of marriage as do heterosexuals. This consideration is particularly important in the post Obergefell v. Hodges context.
