Feminists Strategies under Authoritarianism: From the 1970s to the 2010s in Tunisia

Abstract

This paper discusses how a secular feminist network managed to endure despite challenges from its creation in the late 1970s to today in Tunisia. Considering how the network survived repression under authoritarianism and opposition by Islamic forces, the paper focuses on its changing strategies in different periods.
