Abstract

This study used semi-structured in-depth interviews to analyze the significance of multi-dimensional system of growing environment in the identification construction of Chinese gay men’s sexual orientation. This paper examines the influence of family of origin and peer relationships of micro system as well as media influence and the role of time of chronosystem in shaping the perception of Chinese gay men’s sexual orientation. This study provides a beneficial analytical framework for the identification generation of Chinese male homosexual orientation and could contribute to understanding the impacts of growing environment system.
