Stars performers are valuable assets to organizations, however little is known about the expectancies that organizational members have for them or how they react when these expectancies are violated. This paper aims to overcome this gap by exploring differences in the expectancies that organizational members have for star performers relative to non-star performers and how emotional and behavioural reactions towards these two groups differ after positive and negative expectancy violations are committed.
