Effectively presenting research findings is an essential skill, and tables are central to this process by summarizing data, presenting estimation results, and illustrating key patterns and relationships. This workshop will focus on harnessing Stata's powerful tools to create customizable tables for summary statistics, regression outputs, hypothesis tests, and more, all tailored to meet specific analytical needs and fulfill the purpose of creating publication-quality tables.
Participants will also learn how to export these tables to various formats such as HTML, Microsoft Word, Excel, LaTeX, and PDF. In addition to mastering table creation, attendees will explore Stata's capabilities for generating dynamic and reproducible reports that include formatted text, statistical tables, and graphics, allowing for easy integration.
The workshop will showcase two workflows for generating reports: one using the -table- command and the -collect- suite to create customizable and publication-quality tables from Stata results and another leveraging Markdown and Stata's dynamic reporting commands to produce tailored HTML, Word, Excel, and PDF files.
Attendees who bring a laptop with a current version of Stata and an internet connection will have the option to engage interactively and follow along with the examples. However, participation in the interactive segment is optional because all necessary details will be provided in the workshop slides for self-paced learning.
