First Generation/Working Class (FGWC) sociologists have many assets that are often unrecognized or undervalued but vital for success in different stages of careers. This workshop will help connect those assets (ingenuity, resilience, creativity, and more) to thriving at different stages of careers. The interactive workshop will connect what is known about FGWC assets to strategies for using those assets in career transitions. Participants should walk away with increased connections with fellow sociologists, strategies to use and frame their assets for career development, and increased confidence in their ability to succeed in their career due to their assets. All are welcome to join, no matter their FGWC status or stage in their career.
