This session aims to critically examine existing frameworks around sex, desire, and consent, pushing beyond traditional understandings shaped by binary and normative points of view. The session will scrutinize the limitations of dominant models and propose alternative frameworks that allow for more nuanced conversations about autonomy, agency, and relationality. Ultimately, this session invites scholars to rethink some major concepts and ideas in the sociology of sexualities while envisioning new possibilities for ethical, consensual sexual engagements that reflect the diversity and dynamism of the human experience.
