This session features papers that examine ideas about, and practices of, femininity and masculinity. This panel includes discussions of how to theorize femininities, examinations of how people gender ChatGPT, analyses of masculine gendered labor done to validate the femininity of romantic partners, explorations of the relationship between ideas of masculinity and male genital cutting, and studies of parents’ perceptions of their child’s gender.
