This session features papers that examine spaces in which gendered inequalities are produced, facilitated, and challenged. This panel includes analyses of attitudes towards gender inequalities in Arab countries, gendered inequalities in help-seeking among first-generation college students in the United States, how gendered beliefs shape Chinese parents’ attitudes towards their children going abroad, the strategies utilized by Bangladeshi women challenge inequalities and exercise agency, and how “tradwives” challenge and reproduce gendered inequalities.
