40600 - Promoting Research in Family Studies

Mon, August 11, 12:30 to 1:15pm, East Tower, Hyatt Regency Chicago, Floor: Exhibit Level/Purple, Riverside Center

Description

The Family Section provides a forum for interdisciplinary and peer-reviewed publications to advance knowledge and understanding of family relationships, structures, and systems across cultures, societies, and historical times. It is a platform for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to explore contemporary and historical issues affecting families and approaches to addressing challenges. It promotes empirical and theoretical research that enhances understandings of families across various social, cultural, economic, and political contexts; highlight intersectional perspectives on family studies, including race, ethnicity, gender, class, and sexuality; provide practical insights and recommendations for practitioners, educators, and policymakers; and encourage cross-cultural and interdisciplinary dialog on family-related issues. We welcome submissions from various disciplines, including sociology, psychology, anthropology, education, public health, social work, economics, and law. We introduce editorial board members, the special issues, and journal information on submission, review, and publication.
