Measuring ADL Disability in the National Health Interview Survey

Sat, August 8, 10:00 to 11:00am, TBA

Abstract

Recently, the measures used by the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) to collect information on activities of daily living (ADL) disability have changed. To address potential ADL data inequity, it is essential to first examine if and how the recent changes to the ADL disability questions in the NHIS have shaped our understanding of adults with ADL disability. This study seeks to identify whether systematic differences exist in who is classified as having an ADL disability across the three measures.
