Session Submission Type: Paper Session (90 minute)
This session invites submissions that center race, racialization, and immigration enforcement. In the United States, the second Trump administration has seen high profile deportations of immigrants from various ethnoracial backgrounds. Further, new groups such as Venezuelans and Haitians have become targets of racializing political rhetoric. This session will explore the intersection of race, racialization, and immigration enforcement to better understand how the current moment is re-shaping ideas of membership, 'illegality,' and the U.S. immigration regime's approach to control.
