Session Submission Type: Invited Session (90 minute)
This panel asks whether global-transnational sociologists require distinctive methodological approaches compared to non-global forms of sociology. Bringing together five scholars whose work exemplifies diverse methodological practices—quantitative analysis, historical research, interviews, ethnography, and theoretical inquiry—the panel will examine the methodological considerations required to address global and transnational questions. Panelists will reflect on the challenges and opportunities of applying their methods to global-transnational research, aiming to spark a conversation on what methodological distinctiveness, if any, defines the practice of global-transnational sociology.
