This session features empirical studies using diverse methods that examine how health inequities related to gender and sexuality—particularly those shaped by sexism, transphobia, homonormativity, and homophobia—are created, maintained, and reduced across social and institutional contexts. These inequities do not exist in isolation but are shaped by intersecting systems of oppression related to race, class, and nativity, among others.
