Middle-Range Theorizing and Its Empirical Tests

Description
This session invites papers that exemplify the work of theorizing in the middle range, that is, the creation of social theories that are oriented toward empirical inquiry. Papers could focus on, for example, theory-building in the context of empirical research, the testing for middle-range theories, or the development of new forms of theorizing enabled by new methods such as text mining. Papers that illustrate theoretical innovation in combination with analytical precision and empirical grounding are most welcome.
