Building a Collaboration to Support Digital Publishing: The Case of the University of Illinois

Abstract

Using the University of Illinois Scholarly Commons as a prototype, this presentation will explore effort to locate the scholarly commons as a central hub for providing viding services, support, and infrastructure to scholars engaged in innovative modes of publishing, and opening a pipeline to allow experimental, online publications to flow to more formal print and electronic forms through established university presses. This also includes building support for a variety of publication platforms and content management systems such as Scalar and Omeka.

Harriett earned her M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois, and also holds a M.A. in Humanities from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in History and Literature from Harvard University. Her research focuses on the use and users of digital humanities tools and resources, development of digital scholarship services, digital pedagogy, and humanities data curation. Her research has been supported by grants awarded from the Institute for Museum and Library Services and National Endowment for the Humanities.
