Abstract

This paper will examine hallowed grounds in the United States of America in relation to the Black Panther Party. It will focus on important sites of the Black Panther Party in Oakland, California, including Merritt College where the organization was born; the site of the first office of the organization; the site of the last office of the organization; the 28th Street death site of Bobby Hutton; and the 9th Street death site of Huey P. Newton.
