This session will be structured as an on-going conversation on research focused on Black women's bodies as sites of childbirth and even death. The speakers will focus on extended breastfeeding and how black women's bodies present a challenge to normative narratives on breastfeeding; additionally, the speakers will discuss the trauma public scrutiny of black women's bodies undergo in public policy, sexuality, and popular culture narratives.
