Abstract

Black rookie officer Maria Hill is excited to walk in her father's footsteps on her first shift as a Los Angeles Police Officer. On the night shift with her new partner, a call of suspicious activity comes over the radio and they notice a young man in a hoodie wandering ahead of them. When the teen, Calvinn, goes for his ID in his bag, an object catches the eye of Maria's partner who draws his weapon. Hill must decide whether to intervene and treat Calvin as an innocent tee or a likely suspect, forcing her to examine her loyalty to her community and her badge.
