This paper examines Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” election conspiracy, its effects on the US Presidential elections and the implications of a Trump-like candidacy and presidency for US non-white population, immigration and liberal democracy and politics. The study utilizes a critical evaluation of the policies, rhetoric, and actions of former President Donald Trump to understand the potential consequences of Trump presidency or similar candidate and leader. The major findings suggest that Trump-like leadership could lead to increased marginalization, discrimination, and violence against Afrikan Americans and other non-white population as well as a further erosion of rights and protections for immigrants. Specifically, from a critical evaluation of his previous tenure as president, the paper argues that these negative consequences are likely to be exacerbated by Trump’s previous rhetoric and actions, which have emboldened and empowered extremist groups and individuals. Furthermore, it could threaten liberal democracy and the values of inclusion, diversity, and equality that underpin it and as embedded in maat, the measure of values of justice, truth, and propriety. The paper concludes by highlighting the importance of vigilant and proactive measures to counter such negative effects and to safeguard the principles of liberal democracy for all.
