Abstract

In this Presidential Panel Session, you will learn all about the way in which the “August Wilson House”
Was created, the pivotal role that he and others played in its creation, hear from the Founding Executive Director, Attorney Paul Ellis, and his multi-year journey of making this collective dream come true, the creation of the August Wilson Birthfay Block Party, digitizing Wilson and how the House was and remains the primary economic anchor of the Historic Hill District and what role Denzel Washington had in helping to make it a reality. You will also hear from members of the Board and affiliates of the August Wilson House and their role in keeping Wilson’s legacy alive via his boyhood home.
