Over the past decade, a number of researchers have examined the differences between new and traditional Latino destinations. Most criminological research has found that Latino crime is higher in new destinations for the year 2000. Our paper re-examines these destination difference a decade later to determine (1) whether major differences still exist, (2) whether Latino new destinations have stabilized or remain disorganized, and (3) whether differences exist between places that experienced significant Latino population growth in the 1990s and places that have experienced more recent growth. Our results suggest that major changes have taken place in all types of Latino destinations.
