Wed, Nov 19, 11:00am to 12:20pm, Marriott, Sierra K, 5th Floor

Abstract

The Redeploy Illinois program, a community-based alternative to imprisonment for delinquent youth in Illinois, was initiated in 2003. The goals of the program are: (1) to reduce commitments to the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice, (2) to provide needed services in the local community; and (3) to offer cost-effective ways of addressing youth crime, while maintaining public safety. The paper will present the results from four pilot sites.
