Abstract

Sutherland did not discuss fraud victims much, in keeping with the contemporary criminological focus on offenders and offending that predated routine activities and other models of offending. This paper reviews some key themes about what we now know about patterns of victimization in financial fraud and what preventative activities exist to reduce these and the impact of fraud.
