Does Private Education Have a Negative Impact on Juvenile’s Behavior? : A Trajectory Analysis on Korean Juveniles

Abstract

Most of the students in Korea experience competitive educational system in their life courses. Regarding this, the media in Korea point out the negative effects of private educational system. However, there is no study tried to find the direct relationship between private education and juvenile delinquency. Concerning the assumption that the educational system has negative effects on juvenile delinquency, this study attempt to reveal the influences of private education on the development of delinquency by using Korean Youth Panel Survey(KYPS).
