This presentation is devoted to a recent collaborative effort conducted by law enforcement practitioners and academic experts to examine potential avenues for preventing mass casualty events. The discussion is devoted to ten strategies that were identified for communities to consider as potential avenues for contributing to prevention efforts devoted to this public safety threat. Potential general application of this collaborative strategy for addressing other community issues such as more general crime and policing problems at the community level are also highlighted.
