Comparison of Juvenile Justice Systems Between States

Abstract

I will be comparing Missouri's award winning juvenile system with its neighbors Kansas and Illinois to look at the success rates of the three very different systems. I will also include Louisiana's juvenile system who is implementing Missouri's model to see if the success is repeated within another state. I will utilize the youth services annual reports of each state to obtain their recidivism rates and also look at some of the programs they have to offer the juveniles. This research is important because any increase in the success of America's youth being rehabilitated helps to provide a promising future for generations to come.
